We’re back with another issue! Last week was a solid one for the market, especially given the uncertainty investors had to work through. The Nasdaq (QQQ) ended the week up 1.8%, while the S&P 500 (SPY) finished up 1.4%. Tech did much of the heavy lifting again, though headlines surrounding Iran kept things from feeling as smooth as they could have.
Monday started the week on a strong note, with AI-related stocks rebounding from the previous week’s weakness. The Nasdaq rose 1.1%, while the S&P 500 climbed 0.7%, and chip and memory stocks helped everything along, with names like AMD (AMD), Western Digital (WDC), and Qualcomm (QCOM) moving higher; Tesla (TSLA), similarly, had a strong day, helping lift the broader tech market.
Tuesday brought a step back as chip stocks gave up some of Monday’s gains. The Nasdaq fell 1.2%, and the S&P 500 slipped 0.5%, with Intel (INTC), Sandisk (SNDK), Western Digital, and AMD all ending lower. SpaceX (SPCX) also struggled on its Nasdaq 100 debut, falling sharply by market close.
Wednesday was mixed as the S&P 500 ended lower, as oil prices jumped following renewed tension between the United States and Iran. That being said, the Nasdaq managed to finish slightly higher, helped by a rebound in chip and memory stocks. Broadcom (AVGO) was one of the day’s stronger winners after acquiring a partnership with Apple (AAPL).
Thursday brought more relief, with the Nasdaq up 1.3% and the S&P 500 up 0.8%. Chip and memory names bounced once again, with Micron (MU), Marvell, AMD, SanDisk, and Arm (ARM) all ending higher. Meta (META) also had a strong day, helping keep big tech in a generally positive position.
Friday wrapped things up on another modestly positive note; while the S&P 500 rose 0.4%, the Nasdaq added 0.3%, allowing both to close out the week with gains held up by stocks such as Meta and Nvidia (NVDA). It was a strong week for tech and a decent one for the broader market, despite ongoing uncertainty. Investors were willing to step back into chip stocks, which was enough to keep momentum moving in the right direction.

PORTFOLIO UPDATE
While most of our stocks kept up with the larger market, some of our higher-fliers and more volatile picks saw their prices slashed. Large gains usually come with large dips, and last week, our stocks were no different. That said, we’re still very confident in the moves we have and will continue to make. As always, thank you for reading, and happy investing.
